About Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant
Italian Family Restaurant
Located at 1418 18th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301, Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant operates as an italian restaurant serving Bakersfield in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ2 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (661) 493-0433. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, mammamiadowntown.com.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 478 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian restaurants in Bakersfield.
Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bakersfield follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Could not be happier with this dining experience. Nor do we plan to stay quiet about so here I go. We went early on a Friday and they donβt open to serve dinner until 5, however, we got invited inside to have drinks at the bar. So we were at the bar prob 25 minutes. I had a margarita rocks and Steve had a Peroni (on draft) in an iced mug. The bartender (I believe Tony) was gracious and brought us bread and tapenade that was delicious. Mariah was our server and was filling us in on all the menu items we inquired about. As an appetizer we had calamari was served w caper creme sauce that was out of this world. I settled on the Pork chop (succulent and juicy) to die for right? It was served with fettuccine and bolognese sauce with massive slivers of Parmesan cheese. Steve had grilled chicken served with sage and butter fettuccine that he enjoyed. What can I say better than the service was hospitable, the servers were friendly and the vibe of the restaurant made us feel like we should come back and Iβm happy to say we will. There are other things on the menu I canβt wait to tryπ

Easy to make a reservation. Friendly service. Lively atmosphere. Food came out all together. These dishes were a miss. I ordered the veal ravioli. I tasted more pasta than veal. The temperature was cold and overall would not order the dish again. My mother ordered the chicken fettuccine. The chicken was overcooked and the noodles were cold. It did not hit the mark. However, the chicken sandwich is a must try. It was flavorful, chicken was juicy, bread had a great crunch. Olive tapenade was delicious. It was a great consistency to spread on bread.

This was my first visit to Mamma Mia, Ever... and this review is just my opinion... not sure how long they've een there but i've heard somewhere around 2018. Somebody please let me know if i'm wrong Anyhow other than a few minor misses, the experience absolutely lived up to the name Mamm: Mia as these were my first words when the Tomahawk Steak showed up,and the expectations I had walking in were brought to life. THE GRUB: The tomahawk steak was true to size and flavor - huge in size, incredibly tender, and cooked perfectly from edge to center, with a beautiful crust and tons of flavor in every bite. The fettuccine with Bolognese served alongside it was very tasty and well-seasoned, though the portion felt a little small compared with the impressive size and the price of the tomahawk, not a complaint just an bservation, i knew I was ordering a tomahawk and I expected the price, thats not the point The ribeye was also a highlight: well-sized, tender, and cooked exactly as ordered, making it nother great choice for steak lovers. The fettuccine with butter sauce on the side was on the average side, but st ill tasty and comforting with a simple, buttery flavor Service was wonderful; th

Mamma Mia made our office lunch feel like a true Italian getaway. From the moment we sat down, the staff treated us with warmth that felt more like family than service. The food was on point β pasta perfectly cooked, drinks refreshing, and dessert the kind of sweet ending you hope for. What stood out most was the service. The team wasnβt just efficient, they were naturally attentive in a way that made us feel at ease. No forced routine, no overbearing approach β just genuine hospitality. We ended up staying longer than planned simply because the atmosphere was that comfortable. Mamma Mia is one of those places you look forward to returning to, not just for the food, but for how welcome they make you feel. Highly recommend.

What a gem! The food was incredible. We had the ribeye and porkchop. Both cooked to perfection. The ribeye had a wood fired taste and the porkchop was very tender and flavorful. Enjoyed with a bottle of Chianti and finished with a tiramisu dessert. The staff were all very nice, we never had an empty glass, you feel like everyone is family. Shout out to Ariana and Ray. Both are very pleasant and provided great service. Mario, the bartender, makes a mean Old Fashioned. An overall incredible experience. This is a five star joint π
